Tralee is preparing for a spectacular celebration as the 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes to the streets at 12 noon on March 17th, promising a vibrant tribute to the people and organisations whose achievements have helped the town shine over the past year.

Organised by Kerry County Council in partnership with Tralee Chamber Alliance and proudly sponsored by Cara Credit Union, this year’s theme, “Tralee Shining Bright”, celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of local groups and individuals who have brought pride and national recognition to the town.

From the continued success of Tralee Tidy Towns to the innovation of Young Scientist participants, the sporting achievements of Ballymacelligott GAA and the many community volunteers working quietly behind the scenes, the 2026 parade will reflect the spirit, resilience and pride that define Tralee.

Leading the parade as Grand Marshal is Brendan O’Brien, Chair of Tralee Tidy Towns, whose dedication and leadership have played a central role in the town’s ongoing success.

Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien, said: “St. Patrick’s Day is always one of the most important and uplifting days in our town’s calendar. This year’s theme, ‘Tralee Shining Bright’, recognises the extraordinary work happening across our community. From environmental leadership to sporting and academic success, Tralee continues to set a powerful example. I encourage everyone to come out and celebrate what makes our town so special.”

Colour and creativity will be at the heart of this year’s parade, with spectacular costumes and large-scale inflatables. Up to 60 costumed dancers and performers will transform the streets into a stunning visual celebration filled with energy and imagination.

The celebrations will continue after the parade with a free open-air concert in the town centre featuring the hugely talented trad band The Rising, bringing the day to a rousing and memorable close.
