TEDxTralee, an independently organised event, licensed by TEDx, returns to Siamsa Tire on Saturday 18th October as TEDx Tralee Women with the theme of “Empowering Resilience”. However the audience is NOT just restricted to Women only!
Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally organised events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe with 32 Million subscribers alone on the TEDx YouTube Channel.
Local Curators and Co-Coordinators Bryan Carr and James Finnegan felt that after the stunning successes of TEDxTralee 2021, 2022 and 2024, whose talks have been viewed on the online worldwide TED platform well over four million times, that there was another opportunity to promote Tralee on the International TEDx map with a new series of an eclectic series of talks and presentations from local, national and international Speakers.
In fact, TEDxTralee have been recognized as being in the top five percentile of TEDx Talks Worldwide.
Our selected Speakers come from a variety of backgrounds, experience and expertise all sharing their Stories and Big Ideas. From an initial submission of one hundred and forty-five speakers, these twenty-two individuals were selected

“We are delighted, proud and honored to be able to give these wonderful, inspiring and thought provoking Talks a platform, covering an incredible range of subjects, from the personal to the global perspective” Said Bryan and James “This is our biggest event yet, and we have deliberately promoted a Women Only Speaker protocol this year to give voice to a different perspective, tone and authenticity”
Of course, nothing of this scale can be achieved in isolation, so TEDxTralee gratefully acknowledge the support of all their Partners and those previous TEDxTralee Speaker Sherpas who are mentoring this year’s Presenters. A Not for Profit Company – “Ideas Worth Spreading” – has been set up to augment future events
