Tralee Chamber’s Annual General Meeting took place on Wednesday 22nd November at the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee. Stephen Stack was elected President on the night, with outgoing President Nathan McDonnell thanked for his outstanding contribution to the Chamber over the past two years.
The announcement was made during the Tralee Chamber Annual General Meeting (AGM), where key leaders gathered to reflect on past achievements and discuss plans for the upcoming year.
Nathan McDonnell, outgoing President, was thanked for the pivotal role he has played in guiding the Chamber through a period of growth and success. His dedication and leadership have significantly contributed to Tralee Chamber’s position as a vital force in the business community.
Speaking at the AGM, John Reen, Chair of the Chamber’s Steering Groups, highlighted the pivotal role the steering groups play in shaping the trajectory of the community. The three sub-groups, particularly the Town Centre Group, responsible for Christmas in Tralee, St. Patrick’s Day Festival and more, have demonstrated remarkable collaboration among members from various sectors.
Looking ahead, the focus on Enterprise and Education by the other sub-groups is a promising endeavour. The existing strong partnership with MTU and Kerry College exemplifies the Chamber’s commitment to fostering growth and development, raising awareness of Tralee as a university town. While the Enterprise sub-group will be focused on driving Tralee as the regional economic driver for the south-west, participating in trade visits to the area with partners in the IDA and local authority.
Reen extended his appreciation to the board members for their unwavering support, stating, “I’d like to thank members of the committees for their great support to the Chamber, and I hope to see that continue next year.”
Highlighting the significance of Tralee Chamber in the town’s development, Reen added, “Tralee is too big a town not to have a viable and functioning Chamber, and I believe we have that. A lot of that is due to the exceptional leadership shown by our outgoing President Nathan McDonnell and our CEO Colette O’Connor.”
As Tralee moves forward, the Chamber remains dedicated to serving its members and the community at large, building on the strong foundation laid by its leadership. Tralee Chamber looks forward to a seamless transition under the guidance of the newly elected President Stephen Stack and continues its commitment to fostering collaboration, supporting local businesses, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of Tralee.
