Tralee Chamber’s Agri Event Draws Big Crowd and Big Ideas

Business and agriculture come together as Tralee Chamber showcases the Agri-sector’s critical role in local economic sustainability. Tralee Chamber Alliance successfully hosted its second Agri Event this evening at the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee, highlighting the deep connections between the business community and the agricultural sector in Kerry. Open to both members and non-members, the event once again drew significant attendance, reflecting the vital role agriculture plays in shaping the county’s economy.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Agri Event, this year’s gathering reinforced the importance of collaboration between urban business centres and rural enterprises. Agriculture, a cornerstone of Kerry’s economic and cultural identity, was recognised not only as a vital industry but also as a key driver of growth across sectors such as retail, services, and hospitality.

Event Highlights Included:

  • Key market trends in the agri-food sector, offering critical insights for farmers, agri-businesses, and local enterprises.
  • Succession planning discussions to address rural business sustainability and generational transition challenges.
  • An engaging panel session on the restoration of the Co-op and the new opportunities emerging from ownership changes, sparking strong interest among attendees.

Colette O’Connor, Chief Executive of Tralee Chamber “Agriculture has always been central to Kerry’s identity, but events like this highlight just how integral it is to our broader economic landscape. By fostering dialogue between business and agri-sector leaders, we’re not only strengthening partnerships — we’re building a more resilient, connected future for our county”

Stephen Stack, Senior Branch Manager, AIB Tralee “As Tralee Chamber Alliance’s SME Strategic Partner we were delighted with the huge turnout at tonight’s Tralee Chamber/ AIB/Kerry Dairy Ireland and Kelliher’s Toyota Agri event. We heard three very insightful presentations from Pat Murphy, CEO Kerry Dairy Ireland, Joe Gill, Goodbody Stockbrokers and Francis Moriarty, Director Taxation PSC. We are very grateful to everyone for making the effort to attend; to Sari Houlihan Radio Kerry, for the excellent facilitation; and to the Meadowlands Hotel for the tremendous facilities. Finally, a big thanks to Tralee Chamber for successfully organising and putting together this event in recognition of the Agri community for their significant contribution to the town of Tralee.”

The event was also previewed live on Agri Time on Radio Kerry, offering people a valuable glimpse into the important topics discussed throughout the day.

Tim Kelliher of Kelliher’s Toyota “Kellihers Toyota were thrilled firstly to attend this important event and secondly to be able to allow delegates a glimpse of both our Supreme Champion New Generation Toyota Landcruiser as well as our new model Best In Show Toyota Hilux GR 11. Kellihers, through our extensive Toyota Commercial range, have been most appreciative of the support both the Business community and the Agri sector in the Kingdom has afforded us and we hope that that long lasting relationship is maintained and strengthens over the coming years.”

The strong turnout once again demonstrated the appetite for dialogue and innovation within the agri-business community, with this event ranking among the highest-attended gatherings hosted by the Chamber — second only to the annual President’s Lunch.

Tralee Chamber Alliance extends sincere thanks to its Strategic Partners Kerry Group, AIB, and Kelliher’s Toyota for their continued support in making events like this possible, and to all participants who contributed to meaningful conversations about Kerry’s economic future.
