Tralee Food Festival

CEO of Tralee Chamber, Colette O’Connor, announced Monday that the Tralee Food Festival will now be managed by a newly-formed Committee of local businesses and food producers. Since it was established in 2015, the Tralee Food Festival has gone from strength to strength, and now is the right time to hand over the festival to further develop and expand on the foundations built by Tralee Chamber.

Ms. O’Connor said: “I am excited for the future of the Tralee Food Festival under the direction of the newly-formed committee and look forward to them building on the work done by the Tralee Chamber. We need events like this to be a success in Tralee, and it is with the setting up of committees like this that festival and events in Tralee will prosper.”

On behalf of the newly-formed Tralee Food Festival Committee, Ken Tobin said: “We want to thank Tralee Chamber for laying the foundations for the Tralee Food Festival over the past number of years, for their time, commitment and passion. We are excited to build on these foundations and see where we can take it over the coming years. All of us have a passion for tourism and are actively involved in the food industry. We have a huge interest in developing the food scene in Tralee and our ambition is to create a space where like-minded individuals can work towards a common goal.

We hope to develop a plan that will both engage and excite people about the Tralee Food Festival. Our aim is to grow and develop it into something that will stand the test of time and that the people of Tralee will be proud of.

Our food producers in the area are incredible entrepreneurs and we have very strong established agriculture, dairy and fishing industries on our doorstep. As the capital town we want the food festival to promote, support and showcase these countywide producers while also hosting an exciting family focused festival in the town centre.”
