Tralee was filled with colour, music, and community spirit this St. Patrick’s Day as the town celebrated the 2026 parade under the theme “Tralee Shining Bright.” Organised by Kerry County Council in collaboration with Tralee Chamber Alliance and sponsored by Cara Credit Union, the event brought together 55 entrants, including local GAA and rugby clubs, community groups, and hotels, all proudly showcasing the creativity, pride, and talent within the community.

One of the many highlights of the day was the celebration of Aoibhinn Daly, winner of the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, whose impressive achievement was warmly acknowledged by those in attendance.

Ballymacelligott GAA featured in the parade as the club became junior club football champions when they came out on top against Clogher Eire Og at Croke Park this year. The local Chinese community were also prevalent as they were seen proudly sharing elements of their rich culture and heritage.

A special moment for the community was seeing Brendan O’Brien, Chair of Tralee Tidy Towns, taking part in the parade as Grand Marshal.

Adding to the atmosphere, the band The Rising entertained the crowds on stage, while the parade also received national attention with coverage on RTÉ Six One News.
With every step along the route, Tralee demonstrated the diversity, pride, and strong community spirit that make the town so special.
A sincere thank you to Oliver Hurley and Ken Murphy for delivering such a fantastic event on behalf of Tralee Chamber Alliance and Kerry County Council.
