Over 300 small Kerry businesses and budding entrepreneurs availed of the opportunity to attend 11 Kerry Local Enterprise Office events as part of this year’s Local Enterprise Week in Kerry.
The initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices nationwide, aimed at helping people to start or grow their business and supported by Enterprise Ireland and the local authorities, took place from the 2nd to the 6th March this year across the country.
The events were open to all from budding entrepreneurs to established businesses and gave people the opportunity to get expert advice on key areas of business from financial skills, raising funds, exporting and boosting your business online to future trends such as sustainable procurement and AI.
Events included a Procurement Workshop for SME’s, a networking event in Kenmare to mark International Women’s Day, Grow Your Business Programme, Start Your Own Business courses and free business advice clinics including visual merchandising for retail businesses, website review clinics and clinics specifically for our Kerry craft producers.
Local Enterprise Week closed with a seminar in Ballygarry Hotel Estate and Spa on Planning Your HR Priorities for 2026: Employment Law Seminar. This free event saw great attendance of 70 people.
Fiona Leahy, Kerry Local Enterprise Office said; “Local Enterprise Week is a fantastic marker in the road for any business. It’s an opportunity to take stock of where you are, see where you can grow, where you can innovate or maybe become more sustainable and see what resources are available on your doorstep. The number of businesses attending events here in Kerry is quite remarkable and an incredible reflection of our strong small business community here in the county.”
