In a significant step for inclusive wellness, Nádúr Spa at Ballygarry Estate is proud to announce the addition of their Barróg Treatments. To coincide with Daffodil Day on March 20th, these specialised touch therapy treatments provide comfort and restorative care to individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment, as well as those living with or beyond a
diagnosis.
Expert Training & SATCC Accreditation
The team at Nádúr Spa have recently completed intensive training and is accredited by the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC). This certification provides therapists with a deep clinical understanding of how chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery effect the body, allowing them to adapt every movement to the individual’s specific needs. “At Nádúr Spa, we believe that wellness and treatments should be accessible to everyone”, says Gina Groves, Spa Manager. “By investing in SATCC accreditation, our team can provide a safe, restorative experience for guests who may have previously felt unsure about visiting a spa environment.”
The Power of the “Barróg”
This treatment takes its name from the Irish word for hug, reflecting the intention to provide reassurance when it is needed most. Each treatment focuses on gentle therapeutic touch and deep relaxation, working in tandem with the peaceful surroundings.
Benefits include:
- Reduced stress and anxiety through a calm, meditative environment.
- Relief from physical tension and improved sleep quality.
- The restorative comfort of compassionate human touch.
A Commitment to Care
With cancer diagnoses rising, the team at Nádúr Spa recognises the vital role therapists play in supporting physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life. Launching on the week leading up to Daffodil Day, highlights Nádúr’s commitment to making wellness truly inclusive for those navigating recovery or active treatment.
