ENERCON celebrates 25 Years in Ireland, with 30 New Jobs on the Horizon

ENERCON hosted an event to celebrate its 25th Anniversary in Ireland on Thursday, 29th June. Customers, partners, ENERCON colleagues and the media were invited to mark the milestone at ENERCON’s newly built headquarters Killerisk, Tralee. Sean Kelly, MEP was present to officially cut the ribbon to mark the opening.

This celebration coincides with the announcement of ENERCON’s expansion in Ireland with 30 new jobs announced across the island over the next 12 months. ENERCON Ireland recently deepened its commitment with an investment in a long-term lease in a new purpose-built (1,900 m²) office, training and warehouse facility and service station in Killerisk, Tralee where it expects to continue to expand and grow as the Irish onshore wind industry develops. In addition to these facilities, ENERCON also have an Irish office in Dublin and 12 other service stations in key locations across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Managing director, Noranne Stack says, “The loyalty and support of our Customers over the past 25 years has been fundamental in shaping the trajectory of our growth and maturity as an organisation. I want to offer a genuine thank you to all of our customers for this loyalty and support. We are looking forward to continuing this growth alongside our colleagues and customers.”

In 1998, the first ENERCON wind turbines were commissioned in Ireland. Crockahenny Wind Farm in County Donegal consists of 10 x E40 WECs with an installed capacity of 5MW of power. Since then, almost 700 ENERCON wind turbines have been installed across the island of Ireland with an installed capacity of 1.4GW.

ENERCON specialises in turbine technology development and in the manufacture and maintenance of onshore wind turbines. Pursuing its mission of ‘Energy for the World’, ENERCON has driven sustainable energy generation from onshore wind since 1984. Thanks to its innovative wind energy converter technology and high quality standards, ENERCON has installed more than 32,000 wind turbines worldwide with a capacity of over 59 GW (as of 06.2023).
