TRÁ LÍ LE GAEILGE

Ócáid Phoiblí Dé hAoine 15 Samhain nuair a seoladh an Próiseas Comhairliúcháin Poiblí do Phlean Teanga Thrá Lí le hAire Stáit na Gaeltachta Seán Kyne, T.D.

Bhí ócáid an-taitneamhach ag TRÁ LÍ LE GAEILGE i nGaelcholáiste Chiarraí ar an Aoine 15 Samhain chun pobal Thrá Lí a chur ar an eolas faoin bpróiseas a bhaineann le Plean Teanga Thrá Lí a chur le chéile. Táimid ag súil anois, tar éis na hócáide, go nglacfaidh pobal Thrá Lí ar fad páirt i bhforbairt an Phlean Teanga, ní hamháin ár gcainteoirí Gaeilge ach cainteoirí Béarla agus teangacha eile chomh maith!

Ag cruinniú poiblí anuraidh, ceapadh Bord Oideachais agus Oiliúna Chiarraí mar cheanneagraíocht chun an Plean Teanga a chur le chéile. Táimid ag obair i gcomhar le Coiste Comhairleach, ar a bhfuil ionadaithe ó réimse leathan eagraíochtaí agus grúpaí atá ag feidhmiú i dTrá Lí.

Trá Lí le Gaeilge

Public Event, Friday November 15th, when the Public Advisory Process of the Tralee Language Plan, with Minister of State for the Gaeltacht Seán Kyne, T.D. was launched.

Trá Lí le Gaeilge hosted a very pleasant event in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí on Friday November 15th, informing the Tralee public about the process involved in putting together the Tralee Language Plan. We are hoping, after this event, that everyone in Tralee will take part in the development of the Language Plan, not only Irish speakers, but speakers of English and other languages also.

Tralee has been named as a Gaeltacht Service Town, resulting in funding being made available by the Department of the Gaeltacht and Foras na Gaeilge for the development of a Tralee Language Plan. The aim of the Language Plan is to add to the use of Irish in the home, in the community, in the education system, in the business sector and in the public sector. The Kerry Education and Training Board were appointed as the primary organisation in developing the Language Plan, at a public meeting last year. We are working with an Advisory Committee, with representatives from a wide range of organisations and groups in Tralee.

Additional information on the Tralee Language Plan is available at www.tralilegaeilge.ie and from Aoife Ní Chonchúir at anic@kerryetb.ie
