#10 Pizza Time

A long-time local’s favourite when it comes to fresh authentic pizza. Just off the main Town Square in the ‘Small Square’ near the Christie Hennessey statue, you can get an unreal 12” Pizza from just €6.50 – we recommend the Pepperoni!

#9 Tamarind

Just at the edge of the town centre on Matt Talbot Road, Tamarind is a delight of modern Asian cuisine. Their Thai Green Curry for €8 is particularly popular amongst locals, but for a real deal try their mid-week dinner for 2 for only €23

#8 The Abbey Inn

Renowned for its epic student & live band nights, the Abbey Inn down in the Tess Quarter, promises a mighty big feed of real wholesome pub grub!

#7 The Snackery

A local secret, the Snackery on Bridge Street has been around for ‘donkeys’ serving a scrumptious big breakfast with a great big cuppa for under €8 – definitely a hangover special!

#6 Burger Shack

A bit out of the centre of town, but well worth the trek (take the Ballybunion / Abbeydorney road). The Burger Shack at the entrance to Brendan’s Park is arguably one of the best takeaways in town, but it’s the chips you really go for!

#5 MJ’s Diner

Heading to the other side of town, out by the Horan Centre in Clash, don’t be fooled by the name, MJ’s is more than just an American Diner, serving everything from wraps to lasagne and salads. For a serious treat try their burgers, all for under €8

#4 The Greyhound

When you’re ‘starvin marvin’ and you need a quick lunch, and maybe a sneaky pint (one of the cheapest pints in town). The Greyhound on Pembroke Street is well worth a trip. You’ll get Soup and a Sandwich for only a fiver!

#3 Lana Asian Street Food

New to Tralee, but they hit the ground running, perhaps it was the free ice-cream, or the quick service, but Lana on Ashe Street is proving to be very popular. A little-known trick is to keep an eye out for their Specials of the Month for some good deals!

#2 Dish

A bit of Mexicana in Tralee, Dish on Russell Street do a student deal of a Burrito for €5, and most specials each day cost less than a tenner. One to watch out for is their house speciality, the Burrito Bowls!

#1 Bella Bia

Ask any local, a great little Italian on Day Place (near Siamsa Tire), this family-run restaurant is one of the longest established in Tralee for one reason – great food at a great price. The sort of place you leave wondering did they forget to charge you for everything?
